Week of September 16th-20th

Word -Work copybook homework starts this week!
Words are: my, come, on, in, way

Cover WW copybook and take home folder to keep it sturdy!! Our take home folders will not hold up if its not covered!

Religion test on chapter 1 Thursday! Practice blessing yourself at home with Mom and Dad! Books will come home Tuesday and Wednesday night to study!

Readables are in take home folder , Practice reading this week. Write the title of the book and sign the paper when book has been read. Return readable on Friday! 

Pictures tomorrow! Wear school uniforms. 

Mission Wednesday- Every week we are collecting coins for missions! 

Peanut Butter and Jelly drive is going on until October 4th!

Student of the week is Paloma! She will decorate an All about Me butterfly, bring it back to school on Friday and share it with the class. Our star student is able to sit at my desk on Fridays! 

Scholastic book orders are in your child's folder. The orders are due this Friday if interested and are done online only! I will send them home every other month. Our class code is JDCJD. There is a huge selection that you can order from online! I just sent home one example so you can the directions and website!

Milky Way permission slips were sent home today in folders! They are due back October 4th!

Looking for library volunteers! Our day is Monday from 9:35-10:25. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Monday
Write high frequency words in WW copybook 2X each next to the words that were written today in class.
Math pp. 41, 42.

Tuesday
Reread chapter 1 in Religion for test !
Write words in ABC order in WW copybook.
Math pp.47, 48.

Wednesday
Study for Religion test!
Write a sentence for each high frequency word in WW copybook.
Math pp. 53, 54.

Thursday
Write a creative story using our 5 high frequency words in your WW copybook!
Math pp. 59, 60.
Gym tomorrow!

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter  Please keep in mind that along with these assignments you are also strongly encouraged to: ~Go on first in Math ~Practice all sight words from the year ~Practice puzzles ~Go on educational websites - (abcya, startfall, brainpop junior) ~Get daily exercise outside with your family ~Read and write in your 40 book challenge Wednesday -  Religion - Complete pages 348, 349 and 350 (Easter - understand that God raised Jesus from the dead and gave him new life. Complete activity on page 348) Math - Begin Lesson 9.7 - Time to the half hour - Complete pages 549, 550, and 551 ELA - ~Fluency -Practice Reading with Expression page 149 in hardback reader ~Look at page 152 and 153 in hardback reader - Find 5 pictures that contain the vowel sound in turn. Say all of the sounds in one of the words. Now find something in this picture that rhymes with  twirl . Add the sound /z/ to the end of that word. Say the new word.

Week of May 11th-15th

I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Mother's Day.  This week's plans will be a little different than previous weeks.  Our ELA activities will focus on animals since it would have been the week we attended our zoo trip.  Friday would have been our Spirit day, activities have been planned by student council - Please see the newsletter that was sent out last Thursday for games that your whole family can enjoy! A small animal project will be assigned this week and due by Friday on Flipgrid. The animal project will count for a Reading and Writing grade. Have fun and be creative!  There will be no new sight words for this week but please continue to practice all words from previous weeks.
