Week of March 23rd - 27th

Announcement:
I am being proactive by providing you with your child's Readers, Writers, Notebook, and math workbooks for chapters 10-12. I also put 4 Scholastic magazines inside their RWN. We know most definitely that we will not be returning to school before Easter, so I left the books for you to pick up in the narthax of the church on the pew on the left right as you walk into church. The church will be open from 6:00 am- 9:00 pm. The books are in neat rows and labeled with names. Please keep the math books in a safe place at home in case we don't need them for home instruction. We do need the children to bring back all books to school. I would pick these books up in the next day or so . We were asked to go to school today and get what we needed in case our access to the building becomes limited in the days ahead. Thank you for being so patient during this unsettling, stressful time!

Parents and Students,

Please let me know how you are all doing! I’ve been in touch with most of you and really enjoy seeing the children  working diligently at home! The pics are priceless! We have to document attendance by communicating with you and making sure the children are working on their daily assignments. I’m also going to be asking you this week to take pictures of a few assignments, email them to me, and I will be grading them as tests. You may assist in reading things to the kids but let them do the work on their own as to monitor their progress. I need to know who is having difficulty with concepts. If there is anything that is causing confusion, email me and I will set up a time where we can face time or video chat! I do want to set up a zoom meeting so we can socialize and catch up. I really miss the kids!

FYI, brainpop jr is free! No login necessary so take advantage of this site!

Starfall.com is an excellent site for phonics review, stories to read aloud and other activities to do!

First in math should be done daily as well as reading for enjoyment and documenting in your 40 book challenge! Practice addition and flash cards daily. You can also google dolch sight words and practice them on flash cards.

Take brain breaks, continue going out for walks, help Mom and Dad with chores around the house, make your bed, pick up your toys, listen when it’s time to get back to work, and most of all, have fun learning!!

In addition, there are so many resources in our books for kids that need extension activities. The home and school activities are great to do in addition to the assigned work if you need more to keep your kids occupied! You know your child best, so use your best judgement.
